While the hotel has engaging pools and a lively atmosphere, a few aspects detracted from our stay. The rooms were quite small and a bit outdated, which made for a cramped experience, but the happy hour and the rooftop pool offered a fun escape. Service was inconsistent, with both friendly and frustrating interactions at times. The price is reasonable for the area, but guests should be cautious of extra charges.

The Catalina has a beautiful art-deco charm and is conveniently located close to the beach and local attractions. The staff is friendly and the on-site dining options are fantastic, especially Maxine's Bistro. However, if you value peace and quiet, be warned that the noise from the bar can be quite disruptive, especially if your room is directly above it. The pools are cozy, but they might not meet everyone's expectations for size and privacy.
